Bandicoot diggings

Paul Farmer | Published on 3/31/2025

This morning, Maureen & I were sweeping one of our sites, between the winter creek and Colonial Track for broom seedlings. An enjoyable job at the best of times.

In the 10 or so years we have been working there, many piles of broom, Gorse etc have been created in an attempt to move this site from “poor” to something better.

This morning we found multiple clear signs of Bandicoot diggings for the first time.

With the recent burn between Colonial Track and Third Falls Track, and the dry weather, there is obvious pressure on the Bandicoots.

We are pleased that our ongoing efforts have managed to create a refuge for these little animals.
