Free 'Dementia and nature-connection' event - registrations open!

***News Update***

Hi community group Coordinators,

Unfortunately we’ve made the hard decision to postpone this event, due to low RSVP numbers.

The event has been rescheduled for 10 October, to coincide with Nature Festival.

Please circulate this information amongst your group members (with more info to come closer to the event).

Also, if you have any advice regarding how we might make this event more accessible for people living with dementia, and their carers, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

With kindest regards.

Ngaityalya,
(Kaurna, thank you)

Cath Mossop (she/her)
Community Engagement Coordinator

The importance of connecting with nature for our minds and bodies – regardless of our background or ability – is widely understood.

That’s why we’re holding this free event at the Barossa Bushgardens, as part of reducing barriers to nature connection for anyone living with dementia and their carers.

Share in a BBQ lunch, explore the gardens, wander through the labyrinth, and connect with the soil, plants and people.

Make a pot for seeds, water plants, or sit and hear about the importance of connecting to nature for health and wellbeing.

Plan your day as you
choose, and stay as long as you’re able.

Dementia service providers will also be present with relevant information for carers.

Date: Thursday, 11 April 2024

Time: 10.30 am – 2.30pm (arrive anytime, stay as long as you’re able)

Where: Barossa Bushgardens, 653 Research Rd, Nuriootpa

Registrations essential by 4 April: Book via Humanitix (QR code provided on attached flyer)
